Tunitas Group Wins Competitive Bid for California Department of Alcohol and Drug Programs

Tunitas Group, a healthcare technology consulting company, announced it has been selected in a competitive bid process to provide HIPAA privacy and security consulting services to the California Department of Alcohol and Drug Programs (ADP). The multi-year contract is designed to help ADP construct a new goverance structure for its information security activities and re-design internal procedures to expand privacy and security protections for the department's confidential information.

ADP leads the state's effort to reduce alcohol and other drug problems by developing, administering, and supporting prevention and treatment programs. The department administers drug benefits to 2.6 million individuals as part of the state medicaid system. ADP is involved in a number of prevention projects that depend upon timely access to the California Alcohol and Drug Database. The HIPAA Privacy and Security Project is intended to pinpoint new management methods and solutions to continue to expand access to data for evaluation and outcomes studies.
