Prashila Dullabh, M.D. Joins Tunitas Group
(Mt. Ranch, CA) December 6, 2002*** Tunitas Group is pleased to announce that Prashila Dullabh, M.D. has joined the firm to launch Tunitas Group's health information consulting practice in the area of automated workflow design and management.
Dr. Dullabh, who will be based in Washington D.C, joins the firm from Lexign, Inc. where she was general manager of its healthcare practice. There she led a number of client projects introducing workflow automation and electronic signature for healthcare processes.
"Dr. Dullabh will draw upon her extensive healthcare knowledge and specific expertise in clinical process and CPOE to help our clients take advantage of the new technology tools to better manage their critical clinical systems and decision processes," says Ann Geyer, Tunitas Group managing partner. "We intend to take a leadership role in this important area of health information management and are very pleased to be working with Prashila Dullabh."
In recent years, workflow automation has been adopted in a number of industries to introduce better resource allocation and achieve greater operational efficiencies. As a result, workflow management products are under continual development, adding new features and creating more opportunities for flexibility and predictability in process management.
"Perhaps the greatest advantages to automating clinical workflow," says Prashila Dullabh, "are eliminating errors due to manual mistakes; speeding the routing, review and approval of orders and requests; and improving return on investment from eliminating manual process components. In any healthcare organization there are a large number of target processes that can benefit from automation."
Dr. Dullabh's initial focus will be to assist clients to expand their information strategies to support clinical workflow and CPOE. Her activities will cover workflow design, system selection, vendor analysis, project management and implement.
Dr. Dullabh is a graduate of University of Witwatersrand Medical School in Johannesburg, South Africa and did her residency training in internal medicine at Sisters of St. Mary Health Center in St. Louis, MO.
